Pre-Employment Training Program

  • A four-week pre-employment training program for newcomers and underrepresented populations who are interested in working in the skilled trades.
  • Information and preparation materials to help your clients pursue an apprenticeship or career in the skilled trades in Canada.
  • The program is divided into four themes: Building your Future in the Skilled Trades; Accelerating the Job Search; Mastering the Skilled Trades Workplace in Canada; Designing a Career Path.
  • A roadmap to finding work placements and employment opportunities in the skilled trades.

Technical Training Program

  • 8-week hands-on pre-apprenticeship skills training for individuals looking to join the skilled trades workforce.
  • Information and preparation materials to help your clients pursue an apprenticeship or career in the skilled trades in Canada.
  • The program is divided into 8 technical training modules: Safety on the Worksite; Framing, Drywall, Tiling, Trim work, Prime and Paint, Insulation and the Building Envelope.

A comprehensive Pre-Employment and Technical Skills Training Program

  • This program is designed for partners looking to deliver the most comprehensive employment training program for clients looking to successfully enter the skilled trades workforce.
  • It combines both the Pre-Employment and Technical training programs to ensure that all participants are provided with the tools and skills required to start an apprenticeship.

  • A comprehensive participant information guide to walk you through each step of program implementation.
  • In-person training and consultation from YMCA trades training program staff.
  • Assistance with technical training space set-up and preparation.
  • Technical equipment purchasing support.

Resource Toolkits

  • Detailed lesson plans and student resources.

Coaching and Mentorship
